View From The Quad
View From The Quad is the weekly podcast all about Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Movies, TV and gadgets. Join me weekly as I trawl through the most bizzare news items I can find, interview big name authors and generally have a good time!

The Dream

View From The Quad started off as an attempt to get famous. Sure, it didn't exactly work, but as the cheesy saying goes, Aim High, Fall on the Clouds. Through VFTQ, Cian has interviewed some of his favorite authors, discovered new ones and even went to California!

Today

Today, View From The Quad features weekly bulletins on everything from Science to Technology, Fiction and bizarre news. Visit today at ViewFromTheQuad.com

Sci-Fi

View From The Quad brings you interviews with Sci-fi authors such as Scott Sigler, JC Hutchins and more. It also brings you movie and book reviews, genre gossip and news.

Technology

View From The Quad covers the latest in technology every week, with a slight Apple bias. What are the strangest gadgets out there at the moment? VFTQ knows!

Music

Every so often, you will hear a music track on View From The Quad. Whether it is by George Hrab or Letters Burning, you can be sure that it will be a great choice.

Everything else!

Other topics covered on View From The Quad include world news, horror, fantasy, music tech and software.

Nothing.

8 Apr 2011

After much thought, I’ve decided to announce that View From The Quad, which at this point is a show over 5 years old, has to go on holiday for an indefinite period.

I’m finding myself less and less excited to be doing the show each week, and time constraints are becoming tighter and tighter as I aim to become more and more involved with the multiple award winning DCUfm over the next year, hopefully taking a management position.

Due to my involvement with DCUfm, I can promise you that this is not the last you will hear of Cian. VFTQ might be back, and I will hopefully post the odd bit of audio ever few weeks, maybe some stuff from Dragon*Con next September.

There is a final episode, but it ends abruptly as I realise that not only is a leaf strimmer outside pissing me off, but I’m no longer enjoying doing the show.

Thanks for listening, thanks for making this great, and come back next time, here on View From The Quad.

View From The Quad 215 is FINALLY online, after several weeks of nothingness. For this I apologise.

Today on the show, I have a rather long list of topics covered. We have how teens are using tampons to get drunk, a laptop thief who didn’t count on the owner having an online backup solution and robotic clouds. We also have pirates which are offering discounts and how The Robots now can tell when you aren’t paying them attention. Scary stuff. There are a few other stories mixed in there as well, so get listening!

On this week’s episode of View From The Quad, I decided to have a bit of a chat about the iPad 2, after Garageband crashed and lost my usual show.

A whole load is debated here, as I had one pro-iPad 2 panelist (Stu Helm from the International Mac Podcast) and one anti-iPad 2 panalist (Irish photographer, Lette Maloney) on the show.

View From The Quad is best taken fresh from www.ViewFromTheQuad.com

Today on the show, we have a rather huge amount of Science stories, and very few Science Fiction ones, if any. But if that is your thing, you’ll LOVE it! It’s great. Stories include how Caffeine makes us easier to persuade, how an author is having his shit made into a new lifeform, how fuel can be made from plastic bags and a whole lot more. Like, loads more, mate. Loads.
