View From The Quad
View From The Quad is the weekly podcast all about Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Movies, TV and gadgets. Join me weekly as I trawl through the most bizzare news items I can find, interview big name authors and generally have a good time!

The Dream

View From The Quad started off as an attempt to get famous. Sure, it didn't exactly work, but as the cheesy saying goes, Aim High, Fall on the Clouds. Through VFTQ, Cian has interviewed some of his favorite authors, discovered new ones and even went to California!

Today

Today, View From The Quad features weekly bulletins on everything from Science to Technology, Fiction and bizarre news. Visit today at ViewFromTheQuad.com

Sci-Fi

View From The Quad brings you interviews with Sci-fi authors such as Scott Sigler, JC Hutchins and more. It also brings you movie and book reviews, genre gossip and news.

Technology

View From The Quad covers the latest in technology every week, with a slight Apple bias. What are the strangest gadgets out there at the moment? VFTQ knows!

Music

Every so often, you will hear a music track on View From The Quad. Whether it is by George Hrab or Letters Burning, you can be sure that it will be a great choice.

Everything else!

Other topics covered on View From The Quad include world news, horror, fantasy, music tech and software.

Hello, and welcome to this fine episode of View From The Quad, available at www.viewfromthequad.com!

I’m calling this episode of VFTQ the Spoiler Episode, so you have been warned. On this episode of VFTQ you will find spoilers for Dexter Season 4, Season 2 of Fringe, Caprica and all of Battlestar Galactica. You have been warned. I also have a spoiler filled review of Toy Story Three, from VFTQ’s youngest ever guests! It’s all pretty awesome. And I must say, I know it’s not really new, but I totally love the latest VFTQ intro theme. I’m sitting on a three and a half minute version here that I might drop into the next episode if I remember. It’s awesome.

Today, VFTQ has an unknown time-limit. I must record all I can in the space of time it takes my visitors to visit their friend for about half an hour. So at some point, some story I am telling will get cut short. Exciting, eh?

Today on VFTQ, I spent some time with author Mike Bennett, who is currently podcasting his vampire novel Underwood and Flinch. You may also know him from One Among the Sleepless, Hall of Mirrors and his infrequent Sometimes show. We chat about the writing process, he interviews me for a small bit, we discuss the IRMA file sharing situation and a hell of a lot more. Then, we do an audio tour of the local grocery store, as Mike buys dinner. Enveloping stuff!

Hello, and welcome to this fine episode of View From The Quad, available at www.viewfromthequad.com!

Today on the show, I talk about a group of smugglers who built a 11kg replica of the World Cup trophy out of cocaine AND a submarine in which to transport it. I also chat about the current state of my gaming life, getting out of my O2 contract, how I’m learning to program and the awesome Oxegen iPhone app that makes me realise I am living in the future.

Hi all! Firstly, thanks for all the wonderfull support throughout the Leaving Cert. Know that every email you sent me pushed me along a tiny tiny bit more. Let’s just hope it was enough!

Now, down to work. This episode of View From The Quad is a special event. I bring you, the Dublin Pride Festival 2010! Join me in the parade as I chat to a few flaming homosexuals (such as the wonderful Alan Costello), watch some prancing drag queens (such as Panti) and am utterly befubbled by some very VERY strange dance routines! This episode comes in a very long one, so sit back and enjoy, possibly in several sections.

Now, as I mentioned, a lot of the audio I recoreded (I would imagine well over half) was not usable, as there wasn’t really anything to hear other then loud thumpy music. However, on listening to my hellish attempts to describe what madness was going on before me, I have decided that I can not allow this stuff go to waste. Seriously, you will never hear me as confused again. So, I have uploaded all 130mb of it, the ENTIRE concert, and you can download it at the link below. Enjoy my commentary!

If you enjoy this episode of View From The Quad, please consider donating some money to your local GLBT support group. They deal with a lot of crap, and seriously need the support. This episode of View From The Quad is my little way of helping out some people I have gotten very friendly with over the years, and they do NOT deserve the crap that they have to deal with on a daily basis. But if you listen to View From The Quad, you already know my views on that.
