Cian Mac Mahon
Podcaster
[MINE]
Mine was a pop-culture blog, headed by author and new media guru, JC Hutchins. Cian was with MINE from the very start, and together with JC and the many other contributers, built a thriving site filled with entertaining and informative "didja see this?" posts.

Twitter

Before the launch of MINE, JC used social networking and microblogging site Twitter to put out the call to find people who would be willing to put time and effort into a new popculture blog. Cian agreed, and began posting on the site, under JC’s capable guidance.

"As a writer to MINE, Cian always had a keen eye for the intriguing, unusual and delightful. It was a pleasure working with him, and I always looked forward to his contributions."

- JC Hutchins, Editor of MINE

[MINE] was a pop-culture (Science, Movies, TV, Books, Music...) blog run set up by the company Myxer (who allow content creators make their own ringtones and great mobile phone content, for free) as an attempt to bring in an audience daily.

The project was spearheaded by New Media Guru
JC Hutchins, author of the 7th Son podcast novels as well as the ARG (Alternate Reality Game) book Personal Effects: Dark Art.

The blog soon became filled with great content and became a hub for communication between Myxer users and the bloggers. Weekly columns had just started to really get rolling when some terrible news struck. Due to the floundering economy, Myxer, a startup, had to cut positions to ensure profitability and JC was let go.

MINE was put on Ice, and has never been resurrected, but all of the bloggers there remain convinced that it was a portal for quality news, information and just the occasional
Earworm.
